by Nina Raine
13th – 17th February 2024 at The Old Court Theatre.
Our first production of 2024 is Consent, which looks at the complex subject of sexual assault, relationships and victimisation. This excellent play by Nina Raine had its premiere at the National Theatre in 2017 and it’s been described as funny, painful and challenging.

Friends take opposing briefs in a rape case. The key witness is a woman whose life seems a world away from theirs. At home, their own lives begin to unravel as every version of the truth is challenged.
This production will be directed by Laura Bradley and Laura had this to say about the show:
“This show has a very fast pace and is also witty, raw and complex. I love plays in which I would want to play all the roles and this is one of those. The script is brilliant. You should read it!! It’s a sensitive subject to tackle, and one that too many people have had some experience of unfortunately, but I still think it’s something that needs to be talked about.”
