If you’ve ever wanted to write a play, then CTW’s writing group is the perfect space to try out your writing for the stage.
When in session, the group meets over a six week period during which time each member develops their own One Act play.
There is also a workshop evening as part of process, giving you the opportunity to get your script up on its feet, to try out ideas, find out what works, what might need work and build on what you have written so far. At the end of the six weeks, completed One Act plays can be submitted to the Artistic Director for use in the directing workshops and may be selected for performance at a members’ evening.
The upcoming writing workshop dates have now been announced – for more details please click here.
Try your hand at directing!
To direct a full length play at CTW, you are generally required to already have experience from Assistant Directing on an earlier production at CTW. Another great way to develop your directing skills is to take part in our Directing workshops. These workshops are open to everyone regardless of experience and offer great insights and tips from those who have previously directed about how to approach the task. Each participant is given a short original play to workshop and direct towards performance at a members’ evening.
Both the writing group and the directors workshops are free to take part in. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come first served basis. For each group we will always also be looking for actors. In all instances you must be a member (or become a member!) to take part.
If you have any queries or to register your interest in either groups or as an actor please contact us by the form below:
